Does Lake Havasu Embrace or Discourage the Spring Breakers?
This Is Not The Opinion Of ItsWhatsNOW.com
NAMES AND PHOTOS CHANGE TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT
HA, is this even a legit question? I once watched a “Peace Officer” practically drown a young women while placing her under arrest because he thought she had flashed when in reality she was wearing pasties under her shirt. For some reason when spring Break comes around the people in power decide to double up on the G-Rated patrol. This is a college party town not a kindergarten playground. Lay off and let their money come in! – Tyler Durden
I can see both sides, kids need to blow off steam and rules are rules. A couple years ago, we were in the channel and there were a couple boats parked together by themselves with a group of kids blasting music and dancing. The police were just sitting in their boat out in the water right by them just waiting to see something wrong. It’s one thing to be driving by and spot something but to be staking them out, that’s wrong. – Thank You, Thank You Very Much
Maybe people think they don’t spend any money here but they do rent boats, hotel rooms, buy cheap alcohol from the stores and party in our bars. Give them a break, they are starving students. They have to go somewhere for Spring Break. I am OK with it. – Annoymous

I don’t think Havasu as a whole does either. They spend money: rent rooms/houses, buy food, shop and so on……SOME spring breakers act like they run this town, pick fights, leave their trash in the channel for us to clean up, and thrash hotel rooms. I embrace them as an individual. – Kelly Forrest Gibreal
It depends are where the spring breakers are. Spring break is a money maker for the businesses and the law. Keeping them in certain areas makes it better for the law but not so good for the scattered businesses. All in all this town needs spring breakers as well as snow birds, boaters, fishermen, off roaders….all of them benefit this area. 🙂 – Jeanne Kentch
I think both. Some places dont even want to deal with them. And the cops are kinda strict. – Tiffany Bottomley

I think they should have at it! The city has been blocking growth and prosperity for business in the English Village for years. That place could easily be the most thriving tourist location in our town but of course none of the people in power care about the fact that it is the small businesses that make this town great. Bring in the condos; at least something will be happening to the English village beside just decay and emptiness. – Tyler Durden
Before there is any further approvals for the English Village project, the ability of the fire department to respond effectively to a high rise incident needs to be addressed. The Fire Chief needs to present a cost analysis for the required additions in manpower, apparatus, facilities, support staff. We are already understaffed at the firefighter level and a single, let alone a multiple alarm incident at one of these high rises would stretch the department so thin that the remainder of the city would be in serious jeopardy. The cost of the needed assets, as well as who will be paying for them, needs to be addressed before this project goes forward. – John Doyle
We have to do something to make it worthwhile to come down to the EV area. Let them build something that they will maintain. I can’t see anybody being against it unless they think it will raise their property taxes, then they would kill anything. This is a resort town. We need to bring new things to attract people here. Even the College is a good change. – Dave Vedder
Good and Bad. It will be nice to have some activity down there, after all it is waterfront property that people in this town disregard now because they do not realize there is anything there! However, just adding residential properties as opposed to the inclusion of updated eateries, boutiques, or the proposed riverwalk for public access to the riverfront for all to appreciate would be unfortunate. –Pete Noval
