Western Pyrotechnics

23rd Annual Winter Blast

Fireworks

Who says you have to wait for the Fourth of July to enjoy fireworks? Once a year the Western Pyrotechnic Association comes to Lake Havasu City to show off their latest and greatest products. Thousands of spectators come from around the world to watch the clear desert sky become a canvas for this spectacular kaleidoscope of colors.

Sara Park is the place to be to watch this treat for the senses. The show takes place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., although sporadic displays occur after sundown up until the show begins. Friday night is Product Demo Night, Saturday night is the Grand Public Display and Sunday is the Members Showcase. Parking is offered in Sara Park for $5 each night. Motor coach parking is $25 per day. The parking fee for dry camping sites in the RV park area at the rodeo grounds is $25 a night. RV camping is available Wednesday night through Monday morning for $100. Contact Sandi Nagel @ 928.208.2093 or email sandi.nagel@frontiernet.net or visit the website: www.havasufof.com.

The raceway grandstand is the place to be if you don’t want to miss the spectacular ground effects displays. This main viewing area can fill up fast so get their early and bring a blanket. Additional seating is available in the rodeo arena grandstands. For those that just hate crowds, go Sunday and sit in the rodeo grandstands. Chances are you can park within 50 yards and have plenty of space to sit and enjoy the spectacle of the convention members having to fire off all that they have left before they leave town. Just saying!
